Top edges tinted brown. Original illustrated end papers bound at front of vol.II. Illustrated with 64 full-page coloured plates, 23 drawings in black and white. Some foxing to first few pages of each volume; internally clean. Held in a custom made brown cloth slipcase. A superb example of Rackham's interpretation of Wagner's libretti with dramatic series of illustrations, his only work for adults. Book Collector No.271, 'The Great Illustrators'.
