On Comparative Longevity in Man and the Lower Animals by Sir Edwin Ray Lankester, with some points of reference to Darwin, who he had met as a child (see page 58). First edition. Sir E. Ray Lankester KCB, FRS (1847- 1929) was a British zoologist, born in London. Influential as teacher and writer on biological theories, comparative anatomy, and evolution, Lankester studied the protozoa, mollusca, and arthropoda. Condition: Rebacked in cloth. Externally, generally smart but with slight wear to extremities andmarks to boards and institutional lettering to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Generally bright but with some handling marks andinstitutional ink stamps. Overall: GOOD.
