Memoirs of the Forty-five First Years of the Life of James Lackington
London -James Lackington, 1791. London -James Lackington, 1791 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. A scarce copy of this detailed memoir fromrenowned London Bookseller, James Lackington. Written by himself. In a series of letters to a friend. With a triple dedication; to the public, to the respectable booksellers, to the sordid booksellers. Adorned with a nicely engraved frontispiece of Lackington. Condition: Rebound in a half cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, some rubbing, and wear to the extremities. Slight sunning and chipping to the spine. Straining to the front hinge. Internally, firmly bound and intermittently bright, with some scattered foxing. Armorial bookplate to the front pastedown, and neatly typed details on Lackington, from L. E. J. Brooke, loosely slotted amongst the leaves. Overall: GOOD..
