The story is set in Rome in the early 4th century AD, during the time of the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Diocletian. Nicholas Wiseman (18021865) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who became the first Archbishop of Westminster upon the re-establishment of the Catholic hierarchy in England and Wales in 1850. Condition: In a morocco binding with gilt detailing. Externally smart, with just some light rubbing to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Front hinge slightly strained. Pages are mainly clean. Overall: vERY GOOD.
