New York: Random House, 1965. New York: Random House,, 1965. A True Account of a Multiple Murder and Its Consequences. Octavo. Original burgundy cloth, titles to spine and front board in gilt and silver, burgundy endpapers, top edge dyed black. With the dust jacket. Housed in a red cloth slipcase and chemise. Spine a little toned, boards very faintly scuffed, rear board with a couple of small dampstains and one small chip to fore edge, a few corners turned. An excellent copy in the jacket with light rubbing and one very short split to head of spine panel. First edition, first printing. Presentation copy inscribed by the author on the dedication page, "For Joanne, all love, Truman". With the loosely inserted undated newspaper clipping bearing the title: "Drunk Capote Ushered Off Stage". The recipient was Capote's friend Joanne Carson, at whose house he had a fatal drug overdose in 1984.
