One volume of text and one volume with an engraved map showing the gardens and parks and their proximity to Paris, 2 plans of Malmaison and Ermenonville, 1 plate with 21 engravings depicting geological cross-sections, 122 engraved and numbered plates most of them after drawings by Constant Bourgeois, a pupil of David, 46 of which are full-plate and 52 half-plate, 4 quarter-plates and eight ‘mobile’ illustrations numbered from A-H all with an overlay inserted with tabs over the original view, to show proposed alterations, for example a newly planted row of trees, an avenue through what had been a field, a lake created from the river.
