From Russia, With Love (a James Bond novel).
London: Jonathan Cape, 1957. First Impression, Binding A. Publisher's hardback binding in pictorial dust-jacket by Richard Chopping, correctly priced at 13/6.Book has no inscriptions, a couple of marks to edges. Jacket correctly priced at 13/6, benefitted from some light and accomplished restoration chiefly to an area of the spine which was worn (some impressions remain to cloth beneath). Shows well. An inexpensive and attractive copy of the first printing. This entry in the legendary James Bond series is an absolute classic; 007 does battle with SMERSH, the Soviet organisation of vengeance, interrogation, torture and death, and in particular their fearsome executioner Red Grant. Gilbert A5a (1.1).
