Facsimile edition, four volumes, volumes I and II 4to, volume III folio, volume IV 8vo. Numerous plans and elevations. Original decorated cloth, slight rubbing to the spine of volume I otherwise fine. A landmark series of architectural designs, championing the work of Inigo Jones, Palladio, Wren, Nash and Cockerell among others. Reprinted in full for the first time, volume I contains the three volume first edition by Campbell (originally published 1715-25); volume II both Badeslade and Roque's volume (1739 - of which only 4 copies are known) and Woolfe and Gandon's two volumes (1767-71) and volume III the two volume "New Vitruvius Britannica", edited by George Richardson (1802-8). Volume IV contains an index and commentary.
