Freaky Friday, A Billion for Boris, and Summer Switch (First Editions, inscribed)
New York: Harper and Row 1974, and 1982, 1972. First Edition. Hardcover, three volumes. First Editions of the three books in Mary Rodgers' "Freaky Friday" trilogy. "Freaky Friday" and "Summer Switch" are inscribed to children's librarian Amy Kellman (and family). Kellman sat on many of the committees for the coveted Newbury Award for children's fiction. "Freaky Friday" is inscribed on the front endpaper: "Dear Amy, Sy, Jenny, and Sue / Next time I'm here, the whole [underlined] family will be here please! / Much love, / Mary (Rodgers) / Nov. 4, 1983." "Summer Switch" is inscribed the day prior on the front endpaper: "For Amy, and Sy (and absent Jenny and Sue) / With much love / Mary (Rodgers) / Nov. 3, 1983." The first two books deal with the mischievous Annabel, and the third reverses the reversal, with Ape Face Andrews and his father finding themselves swapped. "Freaky Friday" was the basis for the beloved Disney film in 1976 that introduced the world to Jodie Foster, with the role filled by Lindsay Lohan in the 2003 remake. All volumes Fine in Fine dust jackets.
