London or7 1746 - Broadside, folio, engraved by Beauvais after C.Banks, with fine illustration, printed one side as issued. A Satire on an Eccentric Frenchman. Michel Descazeaux du Halley (1710-1775) an Adventurer who having fought a duel in France took refuge in London where because of running into his Antagonist he always wore his sword. He had many whimsical adventures which made him an object of ridicule, and he lived in Fleet Market where he was known as the French Poet. B.M No. 2852 The price at the foot of the sheet has been erased. Styled at head "Second edition" which refers to the publication of the portrait.
