ARISTOTLE'S MASTER-PIECE Completed in Two Parts. The First Containing the Secrets of Generation...The Second Part being a Private Looking Glass for the Female Sex
London: G. Davis 1846. 142p; illus. 12mo, 1846. . An early 19th century original printing of this scarce early sex manual. First published in 1684. Written anonymously but attributed to William Salmon. A well-worn copy. Original blue paper-covered boards; spine crudely repaired with brown shelf tape. Illustrated with a color frontispiece and four interior woodcuts. The frontispiece of The Amorous Widow has been glued down to the inside front cover. The corner of pp. 31/32 has been torn away affecting some text and two of the woodcuts. Book in only fair condition but still desirable for its scarcity. This work was a classic British sex manual and work on midwifery which wnet through numerous editions over a 200-year period.
