Aesop's Fables
London: William Heinemann, 1912. xxix, [1], 223pp, [1]. Original gilt decorated cloth, title, illustrator and publisher to spine with small bird, horse, bee and fish devices, upper cover with title and several animal devices and illustrator to foot, Heinemann blind stamp to centre of lower cover, decorative endpapers. Spine very slightly faded, minor rubbing to extremities, covers very slightly spotted. Light browning and foxing to the decorative endpapers with very light foxing to half-title, edges of text block with very light foxing, text with very occasional light foxing, plates clean, the colour plates with a titled tissue guard. Inscribed by Rackham, with an original ink drawing of a cat to half-title. Now housed in a cloth drop back box by Temple Bookbinders, with title, illustrator and device in gilt to spine.
