Wherein every thing that is useful and curious in that art, is fully considered and explained. Particularly, three new and very concise methods for determining the areas of right-lines figures arithmetically, or by calculation, as well as the geometrical ones heretofore treated of. Illustrated with 12 fold-out plates. With alterations and amendments, adapted to the use of American surveyors. With copperplate owner's inscriptions to title page, front blank and first page of preface. Condition: Expertly rebound in calf with new endpapers. Externally, lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Slight age-toning throughout, and damp staining to somepages. Lightly foxed throughout. Curling to edges of plates, some with closed tears and slight marginal loss. One plate has been repaired. Overall: GOOD.
