New York: Random House, 1975. First Edition. First Edition. INSCRIBED by the author on the front endpaper to author Ernie Bulow and his wife: "For Ernie and Nannette / Anytime in Montana / Fish, fun, etc / Best / Jim Crumley." Signed again on the title page. & & Ernie Bulow wrote "Talking Mysteries" with Tony Hillerman, in addition to his own books on the Southwest, notably "Navajo Taboos" and "Uncle Ernie's Guide to Old Time Rodeo." He also partnered with Lawrence Block on "After Hours: Conversations with Lawrence Block" in 1995. A nice Southwestern association.& & Crumley's second book, first mystery, and scarcest title, introducing his character Milo Milodragovitch. Jacket art by Paul Bacon. & & Very Good plus in a Very Good plus dust jacket. Slight spine lean, rear board slightly bowed, and front hinge shaky, with fading to the spine and extremities. Jacket slightly toned, with a faint corner crease to the front flap, and a tiny dampstain to the rear panel.
