Toad of Toad Hall
London: Methuen & Co Ltd.,, 1929. A Play from Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles to spine and toad design to upper board gilt, top edge gilt. With the dust jacket. Spine a little rolled, partial toning to endpapers. A superb, fresh copy in dust jacket that is very lightly rubbed with a very short split at the tail of the spine panel. First play edition, first impression. With a charming programme from an early school or community production of the play loosely inserted. Milne was a great admirer of Grahame's story, The Wind in the Willows, and this dramatisation became one of Milne's most popular plays.
