Mount Zion
London, The James Press,, [1931]. Or In touch with the infinite. Octavo. Original blue and yellow floral patterned paper boards, white paper title label to upper board printed in blue, contents printed in red and blue on blue and pink paper, patterned endpapers. Illustrated with drawings and decorative surrounds. Light traces of tape residue to endpapers from an old protective cover, tips minimally rubbed but an outstanding copy and very uncommon thus. First Edition, First Impression of the author's first book. Produced with typical flair by the poet and patron of arts Edward James, this wonderful little book could scarcely have been more fitting in tone as herald of the arrival of Betjeman, whom James had befriended at Oxford. The scarcer of the two simultaneous bindings.
