Edgcomb and ink number on front endpaper, lightly foxed throughout (more pronounced in front & end matter), original tissue guards protecting engravings still present. 1818 Full-Leather. vi, 504 pp. Original brown calf, gilt titles & rules, gilt stamped decorations on spine and board edges. Engravings of all three authors. An improved version of the 1817 first Philadelphia edition, now featuring appendices including the Articles of Confederation, the Constitution (with a list of the signors), and amendments 1-12.
