[Complete set of her major works in first edition.]
Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood and Sons,, 1858-85. 13 works in 30 volumes, octavo. Attractively bound by Birdsall & Son, Northampton, in early 20th-century tan half morocco, blue cloth sides with a double gilt rule, spines gilt in compartments with two blue morocco labels to each, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt. Frontispiece to each volume of the Life. Armorial bookplates of Sir George John Armytage, 6th Baronet (1842–1918). Spines slightly faded, extremities a little rubbed, spotting generally to early and late leaves, the leaves of a few works faintly soiled, two works (Scenes of Clerical Life and Romola) with some leaves refurbished including the tipping in of early and late leaves, but always in a way consistent with honest repair; overall, very good.
