FIRST EDITION 1904 (dated on title page), 75 x 75 mm, 3 x 3 inches, buff cloth, green, pink and black illustration to upper cover, top edges green, 91 pages, plus 2 pages of publisher's adverts. 20 jolly colour plates each facing a 1 line caption, all printed on thick card, 1 side only. English animals plus an elephant, a lion, a tiger, a camel, a bear, and the fantasy Dicky-Bird. Very slight marks to cloth, hinges slightly rubbed and very slightly wrinkled, tiny bookseller's label on front pastedown, no inscriptions, small pale smudge to lower margin of first plate of the cockerel plus another tiny one on the image itself, occasional tiny pale mark to text pages.
