Six Concertos for the Harpsicord or Organ
Mr I Walsh, The Strand. London. - This 48 pp copy ex-libris "Chelsea Public Libraries" with their impressive bookplate. Neatly cancelled "Withdrawn from Chelsea Stock". Discrete ownership inscription "Frances Thornhagh 1760".and so, by association, this could be the "Third Set" that was first published in 1760. The title page bears the declaration "These six concertos were publish'd by Mr. Walsh from my own copy Corrected by my Self. and to him only I have given my Right therein. George Frideric Handel". See image. This copy in a very early, or original, 24 x 33 cm hard binding, with a possibly later canvas cloth spine for strenghening, marbled cover papers much worn and faded, contents all very good. The binding is separating but still secured with seven cords. [Associated with this copy was a manuscript organ music fragment by Sydney Smith, signed and dated in his hand "London. Jun 28. 1884.
