With a frontispiece portrait in the first volume, and with the half-titles in both volumes. 8vo,, bound in handsome 3/4 morocco over boards, t.e.g. by Zaehnsdorf. A fine set, quite attractive. A FINE AND HANDSOMELY BOUND SET OF TROLLOPE'S AUTOBIOGRAPHY. As per the author's wishes it was published shortly after his death and edited by his son Harry. In spite of writers such as William Thackeray, George Eliot and Wilkie Collins admiration of Trollope, At the time of his death his popularity was very low, but he had regained the esteem of both fans and critics by the mid-20th century. A Trollope Society flourishes in the United Kingdom, as does its sister society in the United States. In 2011, the University of Kansas' Department of English, in collaboration with the Hall Center for the Humanities and in partnership with The Fortnightly Review, began awarding an annual Trollope Prize. The Prize was established to focus attention on Trollope's work and career.
