Amstelodami (Amsterdam): Ex Officina Elzeviriana (Elzevir), 1665. Two volumes in one - Volume One - [28], 466 and Volume Two - 467-917pp, [15]. Later (late-18thC) full-calf, uniformly bound, raised bands, lacking title and volume labels, gilt to compartments and bands, gilt border to covers, all edges marbled with blue paste endpapers. Slightly rubbed to extremities, chipped to head of spines, scrape to front board of volume two, bump to front fore-edge of volume one. Internally quite bright and clean. Previous owners name to first page of text in each volume. Engraved title page. Willems 1350 "est fort bien imprime", with Dibdin noting that this is "the best Variorum edition, as containing the fruits of the collation of ten fresh MSS., and the notes of Gronovious and others as well as of the editor himself. It is a book of considerable price" (Dibdin I (4th ed.), Page 471). Latin text . First Thus. Full Calf. Good. 8vo.
