London: Macmillan and Co., Limited, 1934 - Octavo. Original green cloth, titles to spine in gilt, pictorial design of masks to front board gilt, top edge trimmed, others untrimmed. With the dust jacket. Bookseller's ticket to rear pastedown. Covers very slightly toned, small damp stain to top edge, not affecting text, a few pages unopened. An excellent copy in the jacket, head of spine a little creased. 11 pp. of music sheets at rear. First edition, first impression, of this collection of five plays written for the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. Tipped-in between the front endpapers is a card with a gift inscription from the poet R. C. Trevelyan, "Cicely and Laurence Binyon from R. C. Trevelyan Christmas 1941", along with Trevelyan's poem "A Dream" pasted on. Binyon is best known for his 1914 First World War poem "For the Fallen", which is often used during Remembrance Sunday services. Wade 175. [Attributes: First Edition]
