(US) [1961] - FIRST PRINTING, with NSS (National Screen Service) no. at bottom edge. A rare original US one-sheet poster for the 1960 MGM Pictures film, a B-movie classic. Folded, condition B (some pinholes). Approx dimensions 41x27 inches, portrait format. (Will be despatched rolled, in tube). Gorgo is a 1961 British science fiction variation on Godzilla (with hints of King Kong). Directed by Eugène Lourié, it tells the story of an underwater monster's capture off the coast of Ireland. The monster is taken to London to be featured as a circus attraction, and exhibited in Battersea Park, named by its 'owner' after the Gorgons of Classical mythology. Note on Format; the 'one-sheet' is a vertical view American movie poster measuring approx. 41 x 27 inches, generally issued folded with one vertical and three horizontal creases. The standard format for film posters in America, and essentially the US alternative to the British quad. [Attributes: First Edition]
