Arosiae [Västerås] Typis & impensis Joh. Laur. Horrn. Regii Gymnasii & Consistorii Typographi. MDCCC [1800] 8:o. 17 x 11,5 cm. VIII + 240 + VIII pages. Brown half calf. Sprinkled board papers. Book label of Anders Persson Västerås. Beautiful name inscription on the front paste down by Johan P. Ljung in Linköping 1876, and another person. Ink and pencil annotations on the back paste down. Some wear to board the edges. Bumped corners. A couple of stains on the front board. A very small hole (3 x 3 mm) on page 239 /240, affecting a couple of letters. Otherwise in very nice condition. Justin (or Marcus Junianus Justinus Frontinus) was a roman historian who probably lived in the second century AD. He wrote an abridged version of a now disappeared historical work by Pompeius Trogus "Liber Historiarum Philippicarum" written a couple of hundred years earlier. Many editions of Justins work were subsequently published. This is a swedish edition.
