Two volumes in one; octavo; [viii], 1-236, [viii], 237-482pp. Contemporary quarter calf over marbled boards (lightly rubbed, slight wear to extremities, small cracks to base of spine and front hinge, binding still firmly secure); flat spine with gilt rolls and gilt-lettered green leather title label; bookplate of Fasque House to front endpaper, very feint occasional foxing but overall a clean fresh copy. Lewis's collection of Gothic poetry was the first anthology of its kind, bringing his own work together with pieces by Walter Scott, Robert Southey and others. Very good, wide margined copy of this first edition, with bookplate of Fasque House, family home of the Gladstones from the 1820s to the 1930s. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
