New York: Acquavella Galleries, (2013). Fine in illustrated wrappers, with French folds.. First Edition. Small quarto. Edition of 300. SIGNED by Perez. A unique copy, intervened upon by the artist, with hand painted covers, and seven small works on paper pasted into the text. An artists' book and catalogue published on the occasion of the exhibition Utopia at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., November 17, 2012 - January 10, 2013. Filled with full-bleed images and close-ups of Perez's abstract paintings of the Marina Towers in Chicago and the Watergate Building in Washington, D.C. A blaze of color and glory that could easily be mistaken for Perez's native Puerto Rico or points south; stately Chicago has never looked so tropical. While Mr. Perez's architectural paintings are highly sought after, and his brief auction history filled with success, this catalogue is the first book of his own design, and was a killer before the intervention.
