London: Bradbury and Evans,, 1853. With Illustrations by H. K. Browne. Octavo. Finely bound in near-contemporary full green calf, spine in six compartments with red morocco titles labels to two and gilt scale designs to the other four, gilt and blind rules to sides, marbled endpapers and edges. Lacking the half title. Frontispiece, vignette title, and 38 plates by H. K. Browne (Phiz), with the desired plates dark. Armorial bookplate of John William Pease (1836–1901). Spine darkened, joints and corners rubbed, front joint starting, some scratches to covers, the leaves generally fresh. A very good copy. An attractively bound first edition, bound from the original parts.
