The Road to Oxiana
London: Macmillan. 1937. First printing. Hardcover. Near Fine. First printing, blue cloth gilt (1937), 342 (2) pp., illustrated. Very good in a very good dust jacket. Book could actually be called near fine, with lightest sunning to spine ends, most minor fox marks to foredge of text block, flyleaf and preliminary pages have the faintest imaginable diagonal crease, old book sticker on pastedown from Mitchell's English Bookstore in Buenos Aires (Borges frequented this store), faint short red mark to bottom edge of text block, probably removable; top edge of text block shows light soil and fox marks. Dust jacket is very good, very minor loss to tips and spine ends, spine faintly darkened, some fox marks to both front and rear panels; two or three short closed tears to edges, neatly hidden by mylar dust jacket protector, lower corner of front flap crudely price clipped, still a very presentable copy of this travel classic.
