Warne. Very Good. 1906. First Edition. Hardcover. First U. S. Edition. 16mo. Lightly soiled blue paper covered boards, faded white lettering with very good oval mounted color illustration at front cover. Light wear at edges and worn through at tips of corners and edges of caps. Boards and spine are straight. Text is very good with some minor handling. Inner hinges cracked but still holding together with the stitching. 27 color illustrations including frontispiece. C. F. , Linder, page 426; Quinby 10B. First U. S. Edition, unrecorded by Quinby, who makes mention only of a [1908] title in the Fearing Collection at Harvard University with Quinby's #IV pictorial endpapers, which includes a vignette of Tom Kitten at the bottom left corner of the front pastedown and the rear free endpaper. This copy has Quinby's #III endpapers, with a picture of a unnamed kitten peering into a yarn basket, supposedly used only for the 1906 edition of "Jeremy Fisher" and the 1907 edition of "Tom Kitten". Additionally showing the correct early address of Warne as "36 East 22nd Street" and on page 86, Shlueter Printing Company New York. ; 0.3 x 5.4 x 4.1 Inches .
