Outline coloring; several ships and islands also colored. engraved map in fine contemporary colors in outline and wash. Published in the edition of Blaeu's "Atlas Maior." Ornate colored allegoric cartoughe with three colored ships and mileage scale. Highly decorative. One of the lovely maps from a premier cartographer of the 17th century showing the Peloponnesus peninsula at the southern part of Greece. Morea was the name it was known by during the medieval period. As with the majority of Blaeu maps, there are numerous locality identifications and with major cities and walled towns represented by miniature symbols. Matted in a quality gilt frame.
