Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee / An Indian History of the American West
Holt, Rinehart & Winston, New York * Chicago * San Francisco 1971 - It ought to go without saying, but the reason we've listed this copy as a first edition is that it's a first edition. "First Edition" stated to copyright page, which lists two SBN (not ISBN) numbers: 03-095322-2 for the "Trade Edition," and 03-096210-8 for the "Text Edition." (A correspondent more knowledgeable than we reports the "text edition" was issued for libraries; we presume this copy in priced jacket is thus the "trade.") We have added an extra preliminary "zero" to get the ABE computer to accept this book's 9-digit "SBN" as an ISBN. Unclipped dust jacket priced $10.95, and numbered "0171" to bottom of front flap. No later printings mentioned. Unmarked book will close its own text block but not its boards; thus, "very good." Previous owner's blindstamp to bottom of brown FFE and to final page of index. Jacket shows some fraying to head and heel of spine and a small, quarter-inch chip to bottom of rear panel; grade the jacket also "very good." The fifteenth book on Western American history by Mr. Brown, who was head librarian at the University of Illinois. 487 pp. including index. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
