The Thumb Confession Book; For Recording the Thoughts, Opinions, Likings and Tastes of one's Friends and also their Autographs.
Glasgow: David Bryce & Son, ca 1885. Approximately 1 3/4 x 2 1/2". Blue cloth over boards with gilt title and gilt stamped design on front cover, gilt title on spine within a circle, red edges, illustrated with wood-engraved views of Scottish scenery, idential sections are printed on various tints of paper, slight lean to spine, in very good+ condition. (Welsh 6714, Bondy p. 105, Garbett p. 14) This little book has also been found to have been bound in leather. It is a charming book that has various printed questions of a rather personal nature with blank pages opposite for answers. Meant to be shared with close friends, as the subtitle of the book suggests, this one has four sectiond filled in. Questions range from the titillating, "Were you ever in love? and if so, how often?" to the more mundane, "Your favorite amusement". Scarce in the trade
