Burning Bright, A Play in Story Form
New York: The Viking Press, 1950. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 12mo - over 6" - 7" tall. 159 p. The third and last of Steinbeck's play-novelette experiments, which form met with only modest success and was abandoned by him; still an interesting read and an important part of a Steinbeck collection. ***DESCRIPTION: Tan cloth boards with red lettering on front and spine, cream endpapers, top of texblock stained light orange. Price clipped dust jacket in shades of yellow, grey and orange with black lettering on both front and back for author and title, as well as on spine. ***CONDITION: Volume is in fine condition with perfect corners and hinges, only issue is a neat prior owner name inked in small lettering on the top of the front free endpaper. Dust jacket is overall in remarkable shape with a minimum of edgewear and only one miniscule chip where the head of the spine meets the back of the jacket, however the orange color on the spine has faded as has much of the yellow color, hence the VG grade. ***CITATION: Goldstone & Payne A29a, Morrow 206. ***POSTAGE: International customers, please note that additional postage may apply, please contact seller for details. ***Swan's Fine Books is pleased to be a member of the IOBA and we stand behind every book we sell.
