London: G. Strahan and R. Williamson , 1735. First edition of this translation. Full Calf. 4to. (13.5 x 8.75 inches). pp.iv, (iv), 557, (xx [Index]), (ii [publisher’s adverts]). Original full calf, title in gilt to black compartment to spine, raised bands, calf much rubbed, scuffed, scratched, worn to boards at edges and corners. Note in ink to front free endpaper verso. Owner's names in ink to title page: Wm Strachan 1743 (and) James Saull (Paull?) 1781. Textblock age-toned throughout, generally evenly but with some pages browner in tone than the majority, trifle light scattered spotting. Some light stains scattered here and there, fingermarks to margin, tear with loss to margin not affecting text. O/w contents clean. Binding firm and square. Wm Strachan possibly related to publisher. A Very Good copy. Uncommon. Hardback.
