New York, printed by Elbert Hubbard at the Roycroft Printing Shop, 1897. First edition 1897, EDITION LIMITED TO 600 COPIES SIGNED AND NUMBERED, OF WHICH THIS IS No. 501 initialled 'E. H.' by Hubbard. 8vo, 215 x 130 mm, 8½ x 5¼ inches, decorative initials, borders and some tailpiece decorations, text printed red and black, 62 pages, bound in the original publisher's cloth backed boards, gilt lettering to upper cover and spine. This is a SPECIAL COPY ENHANCED BY 15 ATTRACTIVE ORIGINAL WATER-COLOURS OF FLOWERS to the lower outer corner of the pages, 1 depicts birds as well, these are signed 'C. S' on the last page and dated 12/6/97 (12/6/1897) In addition 17 initials, 3 borders and 4 tailpieces have been beautifully water-coloured and heightened with gilt. Head and tail of spine and upper cover slightly rubbed, corners slightly worn, page edges very slightly browned, pale foxing to rear endpapers, contents otherwise very nice.
