The Cloud
Los Angeles: C.C. Parker, 1912. Likely small repair to the cloth at the spine heel, short scrape at the bottom of the front panel, light foxing around the edges of some pages not affecting the images (identical to the only other copy of this title I have handled); else bright and near fine in canvas backed boards with a paper label on the front cover. The six photographs are vibrant and fine (one may have a small imperfection, but it's impossible to tell without comparing to another copy). As nice an example of this title as one could realistically hope for.. First Edition. Quarto. Prospectus laid in. Number 35 of 60 numbered copies; SIGNED by Coburn. With six original 7 x 5 inch gum-platinum prints of clouds, printed by Coburn, accompanying Percy Bysshe Shelley's iconic poem. The rarest publication of the pictorialist era.
