London: Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown, Green / Nattali. 1836. Hardcover. Very Good+. 1836 edition, 14 individual sections bound in 6 books. Each copy has two title pages at the front, one listing Longman, etc. as the publisher and the other Nattali. All title pages show 1836 and feature an engraved frontis. Additionally, each copy has a separate title page and pagination for each individual section. 6 volume set: Hardcover, early 1900's rebinding, Half leather with purple boards, gilt title and 5 raised bands at spines. 4to. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Very Good+ to Near Fine copies: leather shows light wear at corners and head and foot of spine. Leather has remained fresh, but some outer hinges show mild, early separation to the top and bottom edges. Bindings are sound, all boards securely attached. Owner's bookplate at pastedowns, else, Near Fine to Fine contents. Clean, bright and unmarked text; margins and plates show sparse spotting. Each copy illustrated with numerous engraved plates. Books protected in mylar sleeves. A complete set, rebound. Digital images available upon request.
