INSCRIBED by the author on a special "Executive Department of Indiana, Adjutant Generals' Office" plate affixed to the front pastedown: "Indianapolis 17 July 1869, To General H. B. Carrington, . . with compliments of W. H. H. Terrell." Henry Beebee Carrington served as Colonel and Brigadier General in the Union Army. He is best known for his role in the Fetterman Massacre, and also for his zealous pursuit of northerners disloyal to the Union. Light edge wear, some spinal darkening, scattered foxing else tight, very good plus.. Inscribed by Author(s). 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine.
