Tracts on the Subject of an Union between Great Britain and Ireland (16 items altogether in one volume)
Dublin 1798 - 1798-1799. Binding rubbed along edges and face of spine. Ink signature on front paste down, notation on contents page and slight ink marks elsewhere. Moderate foxing and staining throughout text. An occasional small hole or crease. After the Irish Rebellion of 1798 was suppressed, various individuals argued for and against a political union with Great Britain. This volume includes many of the pamphlets published during this war of words. Though many argued forcefully against it, the result was that Irish self-government was abolished by the Act of Union of 1801 and did not return until 1912. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
