Vile Bodies
London: Chapman & Hall Ltd, 1930., 1930. FIRST EDITION, SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. 8vo. Striking pictoral red and black title page. Bound in original combed-marble effect cloth, titled in gilt to spine. Moderate general wear, slightly dulled to spine. Internally clean. Slight stain to a few page edges at rear of page block. A very good, clean copy without the dustwrapper. This copy signed by the redoubtable Mr. Waugh to the dedication page. A scarce object signed. The novel is dedicated to Bryan and Diane Guinness; he was a Guinness heir and one of London's 'bright young things' and his wife was formerly Diane Mitford, sister of novelist Nancy, who later divorced him for Oswald Mosley, Britain's leading fascist during the 1930s.
