- Antique print, titled: 'Mandat erichtonium Tritonia Cecrope natis.' - ('The Daughters of Cecrops Open the Casket Entrusted to Them by Minerva'). The Infant Erichthonius emerges from the basket, surroudned by the three daughters of Cecrops. Engraving on hand laid paper. Watermark: Coat of Arms of Amsterdam (ca. 1670). Description: Source unknown, to be determined.Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Workshop Goltzius' after an anonymous artist. Engraved in the workshop of the artist Hendrik Goltzius. Hendrik Goltzius (1558-1617). Goltzius was a Dutch printmaker, draftsman and painter. He was the leading painter of Northern Mannerism. Condition: Very good, given age. One small hole in print and two in margin, reinforced using contemporary paper. Some creasing (flattened) in the middle of the sheet. Faintly yellowed around the image (from previous matting). Ink smear from printing at two left women. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: Q1-148 TPC The overall size is ca. 12.3 x 9.4 inch. The image size is ca. 10.2 x 7 inch. The overall size is ca. 31.2 x 24 cm. The image size is ca. 25.8 x 17.8 cm.
