LET 'ER BUCK: The Passing of the Old West
NY: Putnam, 1921. 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Blue decorated cloth. A rough copy: covers worn and rubbed, spine with one-inch tear at crown from someone's index finger; lacks front free endpaper and half title page. SIGNED BY CALVIN COOLIDGE. Inscribed "Compliments of Calvin Coolidge" on the front pastedown. The recipient is unknown as is the reason why Coolidge signed Furlong's book. Furlong was a Massachusetts explorer/author who served in the US Army for many years including a stint as a special military aide to Woodrow Wilson. One can safely assume Coolidge and Furlong moved in the same circles. A rough book but acceptable as a Coolidge autograph.
