Herman Dabis (O. Deistung's Buchhandlung) : 1874 : Jena : 4to, pp. 39, [1] blank; with three original photographs signed by C. Bräunlich of Jena (two mounted on one folding sheet), and four text diagrams. : With fine mounted photographs of sections of the human vertebrae, this is Bardeleben's first work after his dissertation on arteriovenous fistula (1871). His Atlas der topographischen Anatomie des Menschen für studierende und ärzte - with wood-engraved illustrations - was published in 1894. In 1886, Bardeleben founded the Anatomischer Anzeige, considered one of the more authoritative journals devoted to anatomical morphology.The photographs were made by Carl Braunlich Jr. (1850-1900) who specialised in carte-de-visite portraits and architecture. OCLC locates copies in North America at McGill, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, New York Academy of Medicine and NLM.
