An artists' book and investigation into avant-garde lifestyles organized in the guise of a cookbook. Assembled by Paul Lamarre and Melissa Wolf, the book includes recipes by artists and art world personalities, including Louise Bourgeois, John Cage, Leo Castelli, Olivier Mosset, Lynda Benglis and Arnad Sarabhai, Gilbert & George, Betty Tompkins, Martha Diamond, Hannah Wilke, Bill Sullivan, among many others. Recipes range from the ludicrous (Peach Fritters as a Martial Art) to the hearty (Mom's Catfish Stew) to the conceptual (Boiled Water). Along with the recipes the various contributors provided artwork and instructions that paint a vivid portrait of the artists' everyday lives. Illustrated throughout with artwork and photography, all apparently photocopied by EIDIA. Fine, three ring bound between a sheet of cardboard and a photo-illustrated transparent plastic cover.
