1918. Very Good in softcover. 22 by 14 cm. 7 pages. Paper wraps. Staple binding. One corner clipped but does not interfere with any text. Author was a Chief Master-at-Arms working at the Halifax shore at the time of the Halifax Explosion. In this document dated from January 25, 1918, just over a month after the explosion, he tells his story of the tragedy including the loss of two of his own children. John Gammon received the 'Order of the British Empire' for his actions in the aftermath. Gammon was assigned to the H.M.C.S. Niobe. Very scarce. Clean text pages..
