The Darkling Plain
London: Constable, 1936. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition. 313 p. Very Good+ or better in Very Good dust jacket. Cloth worn along bottom edge, light dust soiling. Jacket spine panel darkened, small scratch on front panel, wear and light chipping at head and tail, light creasing, price intact. Apparently the only novel by Rossetti, great nephew of Dante Gabriel Rossetti and great grandson of painter Ford Madox Brown. He later became an official in the British Ministry of Labour. Scarce in collectible condition; this is currently the only copy in the trade we've been able to locate with the jacket. An OCLC search indicates two copies in institutional holdings in America and four in the UK.
