Hamburg: The Odyssey Press, 1932 - Octavo. Original cream cloth lettered in red on the spine and upper board. In the slipcase of issue. Cloth a little finger-soiled, front hinge mildly cracked, but overall very good. First Odyssey edition single volume issue, the first printing of Ulysses issued in cloth. Stuart Gilbert edited the text of this edition with help from Joyce, and it remains one of the key lifetime printings. Ownership inscription of "Miles L. Hanley, The University Club, Madison, Wisconsin", extensively indexed and annotated throughout by Hanley, and evidently his working copy for the book, "Word Index to James Joyce's Ulysses" (1937). [Attributes: First Edition]
