Dodsley 1765 - Condition very good. Appears to be original binding. Wear to spine and end boards. Volume one has a loose end sheet and the front end board is partially detached. All other volumes are in very good condition. Minimal staining or discolouration, no foxing. All volumes are neatly inscribed on the title page with 2 early ownership names. Contains all the engravings, marbled plates, blank pages, black pages and signatures that should be there. Volume 1 – 6th edition 1767 Dodsley. Has Hogarth engraving frontispiece. Written on front end sheet is a copy of the epitaph to Rev Laurence Sterne AM 1758. One front endpaper is loose (not the one with the epitaph). Front endboard is partially detached. Volume 2 – 6th edition 1767 Dodsley. Volume 3- 3rd edition 1768 Dodsley. Hogarth engraving. Marbled plate. Volume 4 – New edition 1768 Dodsley Volume 5 – 2nd edition 1767 Becket and Dehont. Signed by Sterne Volume 6 – 2nd edition 1767 Becket and Dehont Volume 7 – 1765 Becket and Dehont signed by Sterne. Has errata page on the back of the title page.
