With Husén's partly removed bookplate on front paste-down. Pp. 117-120 slightly chipped in the top margin. A fine, clean copy. First edition of the first of five collections of short texts on neurosis published between 1906 and 1922. It contains 14 essays mainly concerned with neurasthenia and allied states. From the library of Torsten Husén (1916-2009), professor of educational psychology. Husén is one of the most celebrated names in the world of education. He was a founding member of the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), as well as president of UNESCO's International Institute For Educational Planning in Paris. Among his writings may be mentioned the social and futurological study "Education in the Year 2000" (1970).
